Northfield Automation Systems Rotary Table 10- to 100-ton heat/cool press includes three stations. The first station allows the operator to lay up the part on the fixture ergonomically, followed by a second heat/pressure station, and a third cool/pressure station. This press is ideal for bonding and forming operations and includes an automatic motorized table advance. The standard model comes equipped with 3/16” fixture plates (top and bottom) and can heat the fixtures to 350° F with a 30 second recovery time. The water-cooled station then returns the fixture plates to room temperature within 30 seconds. Both stations can be independently sized to apply from 10 to 100 tons of force on the fixture plates. The press utilizes air over hydraulic cylinders, which eliminates expensive hydraulic power units and provides for clean, quiet and reliable operation (10 million cycles before service).

Northfield Automation Systems’ tabletop heat seal press provides for greater precision in bonding material to either stiffeners or insulating substrates. The PLC allows for better parameter settings via a job recipe menu. The operation of the press is simple. Material is placed on the fixture plate and the second material, either stiffener or insulating material, is placed on top. The top fixture comes down with heat and pressure to bond the materials together. The dual stage allows for a second set of materials to be loaded while the press is laminating the first set.
